Many years ago, Saint Lucy tore her eyes out and through them in the sea in order not to be distracted from her faith and hold back pretenders. They can often be found on the shore, slightly polished, in shallow waters.
Saint Lucy’s eye’s particular stone shape combines a flat white side bearing a spiral and a honey-coloured to orange dome. Because it keeps the evil-eye away, brings good luck and happiness, the Team has chosen it as it’s emblem.
